UX + UI, Mobile Application

Collaborating with an international team to build an online community

Keenee is an app that’s revolutionizing the rental world by building an online sharing community. It’s like Airbnb, but for stuff. Within 8 months of joining the company, our team helped increase the number of users to 10,000. The company is now in the process of expanding operations to 5 cities across the United States.

A Must Try

Keenee is a must try!

It really surprised me with its easy to use search and chat functionality. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for fast.

Five stars all the way.

Way Better Than Craigslist

Imagine if Craigslist had any user experience engineering or if Facebook marketplace wasn’t plagued with scammers! This is that but also with an emphasis on rentals and sharing!

Keenee has truly revolutionized the way I think about renting items and services.

The messaging feature in the app is fantastic. It allows me to ask questions or clarify details with the renter before I commit to renting an item. Definitely has the potential to avoid headaches and feel more confident in my transactions. 5 stars all the way!

Creating consistency through components

The Keenee app was in early stages of development when our team joined the project. Little was known about how the app would grow and which functionalities would be needed.

I created a scaleable component library that would serve the engineers in a wide variety of use cases.

Constructing this library gave the engineers freedom to develop screens independently and quickly.

Easy. Breezy. Functional. That was our workflow motto.

The Keenee team was still working on securing funding and buy in from investors, so they didn’t necessarily have the time or resources to develop gorgeous UI. Instead, they were focused on forming consistent workflows that made converting potential users to loyal customers.

Our team emphasized the Agile UX technique. More specifically, we worked via scrum framework to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively.

What we ended up with is the Minimum Viable Product. From here, the team will continue to secure funding and users. Once we have the buy-in from all necessary stakeholders we’ll begin improving the UI and UX.

Low-code web app features were designed to enhance the user experience.

  • Stock Management

A complex workflow was distilled to a simple user interface so users can track and manage their orders and stock.

  • In-App Messaging

Vendors and renters can communicate with ease through in-app messaging.

  • Listing Management

Vendors can easily view and edit listings on the Listings Dashboard.
